Bernini's beautiful Fountain of the Triton (Fontana del Tritone) has graced the heart of Piazza Barberini for almost four hundred years. On the east side of the piazza, which takes its name from the nearby 17th century Palazzo Barberini, stands the Hotel Bernini Bristol, which opened in 1874. It was originally called the Hotel Bristol, but when it was rebuilt, between 1939 and 1942, it added to its name that of the creator of the piazza's celebrated fountain. Comments are closed.
