The Fountain of Neptune (Fontana del Nettuno) is located at the north end of the Piazza Navona. The ornate basin was designed by Giacomo della Porta (1532-1602) in 1574, but the sculptures weren't added until three centuries later.
The fountain was finally completed in 1878 by Antonio della Bitta (1807-82), who carved the centrepiece of Neptune, and Gregorio Zappalà (1833-1908), who created the surrounding sculptures.
