The Fountains of the Two Seas (Fontane dei Due Mari) make up part of the National Monument to King Victor Emmanuel II, better known as Il Vittoriano. ​

Fountain of the Tyrrhenian Sea by Pietro Canonica

The sculptor Emilio Quadrelli (1863-1925) carved the statue personifying the Adriatic Sea, while Pietro Canonica (1869-1959) carved that of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The former statue sports the lion of Venice, the latter the wolf of Rome. ​
