Florence:
Casa-Galleria Vichi
The Casa-galleria Vichi is a rare example in Florence of Art Nouveau, or Stile Liberty, as it is known in Italy. It was commissioned by Argia Marinai nei Vichi and designed by Giovanni Michelazzi (1879-1920). Built out of concrete, steel and glass, and completed in 1911, Casa-galleria Vichi is Michelazzi's masterpiece.
The ground floor, which is the most ornamental part of the building, was used for commercial purposes, while the upper floors were used as living spaces.
