Piazza del Risorgimento In Piazza del Risorgimento stands a large monument in granite and bronze to the Carabinieri, the national military police of Italy. The monument, which was unveiled in June 2003, is the work of the sculptor Barbarino Iannucci. It takes the form of an anonymous carabiniere on horseback. Both rider and horse look down at a small dog. If the equestrian statue looks older than it actually is, in terms of style, that is because it is a reworking of a small bronze of 1886 by the sculptor Stanislaw Grimaldi. Comments are closed.
