The parish church of Sacro Cuore del Suffragio was designed by Giuseppe Gualandi (1866-1944), an engineer from Bologna, and consecrated on November 1st 1917. Neo-Gothic in style, it is known locally as 'il piccolo duomo del Milano'.
Rose Window
The facade, which was originally made entirely from artificial stone, is adorned with numerous statues, a grand total of nineteen, with the Virgin Mary at the top.
Central Gable
The bas-relief in the central gable depicts The Sacred Heart of Jesus, while the relief in the tympanum below depicts TheSouls in Purgatory. The reliefs above the side doors depict TheResurrection and TheDeposition.
Nave
The interior comprises a nave and two aisles; all three end in an apse.
High Altarpiece
The high altarpiece depicts the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the work of Giuseppe and Alessandro Catani.
Stained Glass Rose Window
The counter-facade has a large non-figurative stained glass rose window, while the stained glass in the aisles and apse is figurative.
