The former 17th century convent church of Santissimi Nomi di Gesù e Maria a Via Lata is much better known simply as Gesù e Maria. Work was begun in 1636 by Carlo Buzio and completed by Girolamo Rainaldi between 1671 and 1674.
The interior is made up of a single nave with three chapels on either side. The fresco in the vault of the nave depicts The Apotheosis of the Virgin Mary and is by Giacinto Brandi (1621-91).
High Altar
The altarpiece of the high altar depicts The Coronation of the Virgin Mary and is also by Giacinto Brandi.
To either side of the altar are statues of St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist, the work of the sculptor Giuseppe Mazzuoli (1644-1725).

The high altar is crowned with a plethora of angels. In the centre two angels hold a black globe with golden rays; on the globe in gold are the initials IMAS for the names Iesus and Maria.
Funerary Monument to Camillo del Corno by Domenico Guidi
The church is home to a number of fine funerary monuments. By the entrance, there are two monuments to members of the Corno family. The monument to Camillo del Corno is by Domenico Guidi and depicts a dancing skeleton wrapped in a shroud looking at an hour-glass.
Funerary monument to Giulio del Corno by Ercole Ferrata
The monument to Giulio del Corno is by Ercole Ferrata and shows Father Time ripping a banner bearing the name of the deceased.
Funerary Monument to Pietro & Francesco Bolognetti
In the nave there are also four splendid late-17th century funerary monuments to members of the Bolognetti family in the nave. On the right side are monuments to Pietro and Francesco Bolognetti (by Francesco Cavallini) and Mario Bolognetti (by Francesco Aprile).

On the left side are monuments to Ercole and Luigi Bolognetti (by Michel Maille) and to Giorgio Bolognetti (by Francesco Cavallini).
Funerary Monument to Bishop Giorgio Bolognetti
Bishop Giorgio Bolognetti was the benefactor who paid for all the rich decoration in the church.
