The Tomb of Anton Raphael Mengs
The tomb of the German Neo-classical painter Anton Raphael Mengs (1728-79), stands in the church of Santi Michele e Magno.
Mengs died in Rome on June 29th 1789, at the age of fifty-one. He left a wife and a score of children! His tomb was designed by the sculptor Vincenzo Pacetti (1746-1820).
