The beautiful Cappella Antamoro (1708-09), in the church of San Girolamo della Carità, was designed by Filippo Juvarra (1678-1736), his only work in Rome. The sumptuous decoration of the small chapel, which is dedicated to San Filippo Neri, was financed by Tommaso Antamoro, as recorded in an inscription on the floor. The statue of St Philip Neri (1515-95), often referred to as the second Apostle of Rome, is the work of the French sculptor Pierre Legros (1666-1719). Comments are closed.
