Of the plethora of angels that adorn the Eternal City, my personal favourite is to be found in the church of Sant' Ignazio di Loyola. The angel is part of the Chapel of St Aloysius Gonzaga, and was carved by the Roman sculptor Bernardino Ludovisi, who died on December 11th 1749. Comments are closed.
