The Palazzo Spada was built for Cardinal Girolamo Capodiferro between 1548 and 1550. The facade, its niches filled with statues of ancient Roman heroes and emperors, is an outstanding example of stucco decoration. The decoration extends into the courtyard of the palazzo, which was acquired by Cardinal Bernardino Spada in 1632. Comments are closed.
