On July 7th 1573, the architect Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola died in Rome. Vignola, as he was commonly called, was one of the great architects of the 16th century. His two masterpieces are the Villa Farnese in Caprarola, a small town to the north of Rome, and the Chiesa del Gesù. Comments are closed.
