On April 21st 1922, Alessandro Nilo Angelo Moreschi (b. 1858), the last surviving castrato to have served in the choir of the Cappella Sistina, died. 

Moreschi, who was known as l'Angelo di Roma, was the only castrato to have his singing voice recorded. 

Moreschi is interred in the Monumental Cemetery of Verano, in Rome.
