The beautiful sculpture of Cupid and Psyche, in the Capitoline Museums, has been dated to the first or second century CE.
The sculpture was given to the Musei Capitolini by Pope Benedict XIV (r. 1740-58) in 1749, shortly after its discovery on the Aventine Hill. Comments are closed.
