Piazzale Ugo la Malfa The monument to Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-72), one of the leading activists for the unification of Italy, was unveiled on June 2nd 1949, the centenary year of the start of the short-lived Roman Republic. The monument was conceived and realised (mostly) by the sculptor Ettore Ferrari (1845-1929). Comments are closed.
